Treacle Line page under reconstruction
Dear Treacle fans whoever and wherever you may be,
I hope you are all well and thriving.
I have just returned from my romp through the fields with the dog Lupin where we enjoyed breaking the ice which covers all the puddles and streams in this country at this time of year; very pretty and most exhilarating but I am not sorry to be home and out of the icy wind which seems to be coming directly from Siberia this morning. The cold weather comes, of course as a great shock to the system of those of us who have spent the past month or so in Australia where the temperature when we left was 36°; it was -7° when we returned to Heathrow and I find myself wondering why I keep coming back. I am sure the dog Lupin would be eligible for Aus. citizenship and I imagine the Aus. immigration people are crying out for itinerant banjo-players. No problem, I shall get onto it at once. The Tamworth festival seemed to be busier than ever to me and the crowds in the Legend's bar at West's made us just as welcome as they always have. Of course it was a little different this year due to the fact that, for various reasons, neither Jasper nor Seth were able to perform; so, rather than miss out a year, I decided to bring my UK band 'Coup de Grass' with me. It was a good decision; we had a great time and are being urged to consider doing it again…….
CDs
The new CD 'After the Treacle' is now finished and is proving to be one of the most popular yet. There is also talk of another DVD but at the moment it is nothing more than 'talk'. And don't forget Treacle Line is now findable on www.youtube.com . So is Coup de Grass but it takes some finding.
UK NEWS
According to this morning's news report we had an earthquake last night. I guess I must be a very sound sleeper as, in spite of the fact that its epicentre was very close to where I live in Cambridgeshire, I knew nothing about it. I blame global warming for such happenings. There is no other news, particularly of the cricket variety.
WHAT NEXT
I have no idea what is going to happen at next year's festival but both Jasper and Seth tell me they are keen to get their Treacle boots out again so it just may be that a TL reunion is on the cards. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to work with them again. How I missed Jasper's smiling face and Seth's charm and wit on stage this year, few will ever know. Anyway, rest assured, I will keep you posted.
And I think that will do for now. I must go and chop wood for the fire in order to counter the global warming. And I shall be pondering the concept of living in a place which is less cold than here. I wonder what it's like in Toowoomba?
Cheers, KP
